KOCHI: It seems the Kochi IPL team, Indi Commandos, is courting controversy once again. A day after the IPL Governing Council turned down its demand to change the venue to Ahmedabad, the Indi Commandos has reportedly approached the Governing Council once again with the same demand. The Kochi IPL team has reportedly sent a letter to the IPL Governing Council demanding a change in the venue of the matches from Kochi while raising concerns about the quality of the ground here and its timely availability.
Sources said the letter says that the Kochi stadium is not suitable for the match and chances are less for the stadium to be fit for the matches on time. The team owners had expressed concern over the high entertainment tax in Kochi following which the Kochi Corporation had given a 50 percent tax exemption in entertainment tax. However, the team owners demand a complete waiver of entertainment tax.Meanwhile, the online world is buzzing with protests and angry remarks over Indi Commandos’ demand for a change of venue. Kochi team’s fans have registered their protest on the fan page of Indi Commandos on Facebook.
